(Bedford, PA)
Scooter’s 863rd bar, first visited in 2011.
This historic tavern was established around 1762, making it among the very oldest bars I have been to. Check out the web site link to learn about the fascinating history of this place.
I had the Sly Fox O’Reilly’s Stout and a fish sandwich, both of which were delicious. The fish sandwich was quite a bit bigger than I expected. I also had bacon-wrapped scallops as an appetizer.
This was a nice tavern, with a restaurant on the other side and a bed and breakfast upstairs. The staff was friendly and talkative at first, but then they got a Memorial Day weekend rush of bikers than I’m not sure they were ready for. Took us a little while to get our check when we were done, but that’s ok!
