Scooter’s 792nd bar, first visited in 2010.
We can made a complete circle around the neighborhood and found nothing else open. Back at the van, we needed to decide whether to to wait another 45 minutes for the other bars to open or hit the road.
“Let me check one thing,” I said. “Wait here, I’m going to check something.”
I walked a block back up the hill and stood on the corner to survey my surroundings. My hunch paid off, I saw that two places that were dark when we walked by them earlier now had the lights on. I texted B to join me at the stop sign.
A few moments later he met me and we quickly made a decision to cross the busy street visit Kramer’s first.
Kramer’s had looked promising when we passed it earlier. It looks like a dive, and being attached to a placed called “Lollipop Adult Treats” certainly added to the appeal.
The bartender and a friend of his were the only other people in the bar. We got a couple of bottles of High Life and headed over to the Golden Tee machine.
As we played, we started to notice that the sticky floor was littered with broken glass and…… rubber bands. ??? We can only imagine what must have gone on there the night before.
