Scooter’s 701st bar, first visited in 2010.
I arrived mid-afternoon on a Saturday. The bar was very dark, so dark it took a good 15-20 minutes for my eyes to fully adjust.
The tiled, horseshoe-shaped bar was filled with middle aged an older people, as one would expect this time of day. The cavernous interior of brick and concrete made it loud with even just a dozen patrons, so the somewhat timid bartender was very hard to hear.
The bar’s entertainment includes pool tables, some sort of video poker type games, a jukebox, and a stage for live entertainment.
From talking to others, it seems this bar draws some its patrons from up to 40 miles away.
